Shortstop, Nolan Fontana went 7-19 with 3 doubles. Center fielder, Andrew Aplin went 6-15 with a double and a grand slam. Left fielder/designated hitter/first baseman, MP Cokinos went 5-14 with 2 doubles. Designated hitter/second baseman, Joe Sclafani went 1-8 with a home run. Third baseman/first baseman, Matt Duffy went 4-16 with 2 doubles. Right fielder, Chris Epps went 5-15 with a double, a triple, and 2 home runs. JetHawks's Pitching
Cameron Lamb went 2 innings of 1 hit baseball in game 1. Starter, David Rollins went 5 innings of 2 hit baseball, not able to go any more as part of the tandem pitching system used by the JetHawks. Travis Ballew earned the game 3 save after going an inning while allowing 1 hit. Blair Walters earned the game 3 win after going 1 inning and allowing 1 run on 3 hits. Jonas Dufek allowed 1 hit in 2 innings pitched in game 3. Starter, Aaron West earned the game 4 win after going the maximum 5 innings and allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 6 hits. Thomas Shirley got the game 4 save after going 4 innings and allowing just 1 run on 1 hit.
Quakes's Pitching
Carlos Frias earned the game 1 win after going 6 innings and allowing 2 runs, 1 earned, on 5 hits. Eric Eadington earned the game 2 win after going 1 inning and allowing 1 hit. Jon Michael Redding did quite well in his second start of the season, going 4 strong innings and only allowing 3 hits. Utility infielder, Pedro Guerrero pitched in game 4. He went .2 innings and allowed 6 runs on 3 hits. Second baseman, Scott Wingo also pitched in game 4, going 1.1 innings and allowing 1 run on 2 hits and striking out 1.
Roster Moves
Outfielder, Blake Smith has been sent back to the Quakes from AA, but not as an outfielder as he was for Rancho in 2011. He will be switching to pitching. Outfielder, Jon Garcia has been promoted to AA. Ted Lilly came to Rancho for a rehab assignment. Carl Crawford also visited for a rehab assignment that will consist of 4 games total. Pitcher, Pedro Baez was placed on the DL and pitcher, Lindsey Caughel was activated from it as well as outfielder Devin Shines and catcher, Pratt Maynard. Pitcher, James Campbell has been sent to the Arizona League team for a rehab assignment for his knee. Pitcher Matt Shelton and Catcher John Cannon have both been sent to Ogden to make room on the roster.
Upcoming Games
The Quakes will play 3 (7/1-7/3) against the 66ers in Rancho. Monday is Social Media Monday, Tuesday is Recycle Tuesday, and Wednesday is a pre 4th of July fireworks show as the Quakes will not be home on the 4th. The stadium will however be in use on the 4th for a Fireworks Spectacular put on by the city. The Quakes will be playing the Mavericks in Adelanto, CA, July 4-6.
