Quakes Win Rubber Game to Take Series

In the final game of a three game series between the Lake Elsinore Storm (San Diego Padres A+ Affiliate) and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (Los Angeles Dodgers A+ Affiliate), the Quakes managed another come from behind victory. With the aid of a Corey Seager 440 ft, 2 run home run, a solo shot from Chris Jacobs, and a 3 run long ball by Scott Schebler, the Quakes were able to take the series from the Storm.
The biggest news of this series, however, relates to former San Francisco Giants closer, Brian Wilson. He started game 2 for the Quakes and went 1 inning. He only needed to throw 8 pitches to complete his one and only scheduled inning with the Quakes. Wilson will now be going to the AAA affiliate, the Albuquerque Isotopes.
The Quakes were outscored by the Storm, 21-20, but they out hit the Storm, 34-21.

Lake Elsinore's Batting

Center fielder, Travis Jankowski went 4-13 with a double. Shortstop, Jace Peterson went 2-9 with a double and a home run. Left fielder, Jeremy Baltz went 3-13 with a double and a home run. Catcher, Dane Phillips went 3-13 with a double and a triple. Third baseman, Duanel Jones went 3-9 with 2 doubles. Second baseman/designated hitter, B.J. Guinn went 3-9 with a triple.

Rancho Cucamonga's Batting

Third baseman/center fielder, Casio Grider went 3-9 with a bunt base hit. Right fielder, Scott Schebler went 5-13 with 2 doubles and a 3 run home run. Second baseman, Darnell Sweeney went 4-12 with a double and 2 triples. Center fielder/left fielder, Noel Cuevas went 6-11 with 3 doubles. Shortstop, Corey Seager went 3-13 with a 2 run home run. First baseman, Chris Jacobs went 6-11 with a double, a triple, and 2 home runs.

Storm's Pitching

Game 1 winner, Luis De La Cruz went 1 inning and allowed 1 run on 1 hit. Cody Hebner threw a hit less inning in game 1. John Hussey allowed 1 hit in 1 inning of work in game 3.

Quakes's Pitching

In game 1, Eric Eadington went .1 innings and allowed 1 hit. He earned the game 3 win after throwing 2 hit less innings. Brian Wilson started game 2 and went 1 inning without giving up a hit. He was followed by Freddie Cabrera, who went 5 innings without allowing a hit, though an unearned run scored. Dan Coulombe earned the game 2 win after going .1 inings and allowing 1 run on 1 hit. He allowed 1 unearned run without allowing a hit in game 3. Craig Stem earned the game 2 save after going 1 inning without giving up a hit. Matt Shelton allowed 1 hit over 1 inning of work in game 3.

Roster Moves

RHP, Edwin Carl was added to the Quakes roster. OF, Devin Shines was sent to the Great Lakes Loons. IF, James McDonald was sent to the AZL Dodgers. 3B, Ryan Mount was activated off the DL. RHP, Arismendy Ozoria was placed on the DL. RHP, Brian Wilson was added to the roster then sent to Albuquerque.
