Quakes Win 2nd Series in a Row

After taking on the High Dessert Mavericks last weekend, and avoiding a sweep, the Quakes turned it around and took 2 of 3 this time as they did earlier this week against the 66ers. Both the Quakes and the Mavericks managed to score 12 runs, but the Quakes managed to outhit the Mavericks, 22-20. 

High Desert's Batting

Center fielder/designated hitter, Jamal Austin went 5-14 with a double and a triple. Designated hitter/first baseman, Daniel Paolini went 4-13 with 2 home runs. Third baseman, Patrick Kivlehan went 2-12 with a double. Second baseman/center fielder, Nate Melendres went 1-7 with a double. 

Rancho Cucamonga's Batting

Right fielder, Scott Schebler went 6-12 with a double and 2 home runs. Catcher, Pratt Mayanrd went 3-10 with 2 home runs. Center fielder/left fielder, Noel Cuevas went 4-12 to post a series avg. of .333, as did second baseman/third baseman/center fielder, Casio Grider, who went 2-6.

Mavericks's Pitching

Relief pitcher, Matt Brazis went 2 innings in game 2 and allowed 2 hits. Game 2 winner, Seon Gi Kim earned the W after going an inning and allowing 2 hits. Dominic Leone got the game 2 save after pitching a hitless inning. Relief pitcher, Mayckol Guaipe went 1.1 innings without allowing a hit. David Colvin went 1 inning and allowed 2 hits.

Quakes's Pitching

Starter, Lindsey Caughel earned the game 1 win after going 6 innings and allowing only 2 hits. Former Chicago Cub, Carlos Marmol pitched an inning of relief for the Quakes and went 1 inning, allowing 2 hits and 1 run. Jarret Martin went an inning and allowed 1 hit in game 1 and earned the save in game 3 after pitching a hitless inning. Eric Eadington earned the game 1 save after going an inning and allowing a hit. Relief pitcher, Dan Coulombe threw 3 innings in game 2, allowing 2 hits. Freddie Cabrera also pitched 3 innings and allowed 1 hit in game 2. Starter, Jon Michael Redding went 6 innings in game 3, allowing 3 hits and 2 unearned runs to record the win. Relief pitcher, Matt Shelton went 1 inning and gave up 1 hit in game 3.

Roster Moves 

Pitcher, Pedro Baez was promoted to Double A, Chattanooga. Recently acquired pitcher, Carlos Marmol was sent to the Quakes from the Isotopes, the Triple A affiliate. He is scheduled to remain with the Quakes for the rest of the home stand. 

Upcoming Games

The Quakes have a 3 game set with the Bakersfield Blaze (7/13-7/15) at LoanMart Field. Saturday is fireworks night, Sunday is a photo series giveaway, the last photo was of Carl Crawford, and Monday is Social Media Monday.
