Quakes Win 5th Straight Series

The Quakes played the Modesto Nuts for the final time in the 2013 season and ended up winning the series. So, not only did the Quakes take the series in Modesto, they took the season series as well, winning 4 of 6 games and losing only 2. The Quakes scored 20 runs on 31 hits, while the Nuts scored 14 runs on 28 hits. 

Rancho's Batting

Second baseman/third baseman/shortstop/left fielder, Scott Wingo went 3-8 with a triple. Right fielder, Scott Schebler went 4-13 with a double and a home run. Shortstop, Darnell Sweeney went 5-10 with 2 doubles and a triple. Left fielder, Bobby Coyle went 2-14 with a home run. Catcher, Chris O'Brien went 1-8 with a double. Center fielder/third baseman/ left fielder, Casio Grider went 3-9 with his first home run of the year. Second baseman, James McDonald went 3-7 with a double.

Modesto's Batting

Center fielder, Tyler Massey went 7-14 with a home run. Designated hitter/left fielder, Brian Humphries went 3-13 with a double. Catcher/designated hitter, Ryan Casteel went 1-8 with a grand slam. Second baseman, Taylor Featherston went 3-13 with a triple. Shortstop, Trevor Story went 3-9 with a double and a triple. First baseman, Harold Riggins went 1-6 with a double. Third baseman, Niko Gallego went 2-9 with a home run. Designated hitter, Jared Simmon went 1-3 with a double.

Quakes's Pitching

Raydel Sanchez pitched 1.2 innings, allowing 1 hit, in game 1. Dan Coulombe earned the game 1 win after going .2 innings withou giving up a hit. Matt Shelton earned the game 2 save after going 1 inning and allowing a hit. Blake Smith threw a hitless inning in game 2. Jharel Cotton started game 3 and went 3 innings and allowed 3 hits. He didn't earn the win only because he didn't go the minimum 5 innings. Eric Eadington ended up with the game 3 win after going 3 innings and allowing 1 hit. Jarret Martin finished up the game with a hitless inning of relief. 

Nuts's Pitching 

Kenneth Roberts went an inning in game 1, giving up 1 unearned run on 2 hits. Geoff Parker earned the game 2 win after going 2 innings and allowinf 1 run on 2 hits. Nelson Gonzalez pitched an inning , giving up 1 hit. Scott Oberg earned the game 2 save after throwing a hitless inning. 

Upcoming Games

The Quakes return home for a 6 game home stand, (7/23-7/28), starting with the 66ers and closing out with the JetHawks. Tuesday is Recylce Tuesday. Fans who bring 10 CRV eligible recyclables get a free club level ticket. Wednesday is Bark in the Park, where fans can bring their pets to the game. Thursday is Thirsty Thursday, with discounted soft drinks and alcoholic beverages. Friday is Dollar Family Feast Night as well as Faith Night. Fans can purchase Pepsi products, hot dogs, and ice cream sandwiches for just a dollar. Saturday is fireworks night and US Bank hat giveaway [First 1,500 fans]. Sunday is another photo series giveaway [First 1,500 fans]
