Quakes and Rawhide Split the Series

The Visalia Rawhide took a trip down to Rancho Cucamonga this weekend to play the Quakes in a four game series that ended up with each team getting two wins apiece. Dodgers utility man, Jerry Hairston Jr., even stopped by for two rehab apperances. The bats were alive for both teams as the Quakes tallied up 40 hits and the Rawhide got 37. The Quakes managed to out score the Rawhide, 26-14. 9 of the Quakes runs were home runs, with one of those nine being a grand slam. 

Rawhide's Batting

 Designated hitter/left fielder, David Nick went 5-20 with a double and all three of Visalia's home runs. Second baseman,  Gerson Montilla went 6-20 with a double. Third baseman/designated hitter, Jake Lamb went 3-15 with a double. First baseman/third baseman, Ryan Court went 5-14 with a double and a triple. Short stop, Sean Jamieson went 4-11 with two doubles. Left fielder/designated hitter, Kerry Jenkins went 2-8 with a double. Center fielder, Evan Marzilli went 2-16 with both hits being doubles. Catcher, Michael Perez went 1-9 with a double. 

Quake's Batting 

Shortstop, Darnell Sweeney went 6-15 with a grand slam. Center fielder, Noel Cuevas went 4-14 with a double, triple, and a home run. Designated hitter/first baseman, O'Koyea Dickson went 2-13 with a home run. First baseman, Angelo Songco went 2-5 with a home run in his final game in Rancho before being promoted to Double A, Chattanooga. Right fielder, Jon Garcia went 5-13  with 2 doubles and 2 home runs. Left fielder/designated hitter, Bobby Coyle went 7-16 with a double and a home run. Second baseman/third baseman, Casio Grider went 4-14 with a double. Second baseman, Scott Wingo went 2-9 with a double. Catcher, Pratt Maynard went 4-7 with a double and his first home run of the year. First baseman, Chris Jacobs went 2-3 with a home run in his first game back with Rancho this season.

Visalia's Pitching 

Relief pitcher, Willy Paredes went .2 innings and allowed no runs on 2 hits, as did Patrick Schuster. Relief pitcher, Jake Barrett went a total of 2 innings while allowing 1 run on 1 hit over two games. He earned the win in game 1 and the save in game 2. Relief pitcher, Kaleb Fleck got the save in game 1 and went a total of 2 innings while allowing 1 run on 4 hits. Conrad Flynn earned the win in game 2 after going 4 innings while allowing just 1 run on 2 hits. Relief pitcher, Frank Santana went 1 inning while allowing just 1 hit.

Rancho's Pitching 

Relief pitcher, Eric Eadington returned to his 2012 form as he went a total of 3 innings while allowing jaut 1 hit over 2 games. Daniel Coulombe went 2 innings and allowed 1 hit. Ryan Acosta went 1 inning and allowed no runs or hits. Starter, Jarret Martin went 5 innings and allowed 8 hits however, no runners were able to make it home as he earned the win in game 3. Relief pitcher, Owen Jones went 1 inning and allowed no hits. Starter, Duke von Schamann went 7 innings and allowed 1 run on 3 hits, earning him the win in game 4. 

The Quakes continue their 7 game home stand with a 3 game set with the LancasterJetHawks at LoanMart Field
